Individual Giving: The Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra is a non-for-profit organization. Our mission is to enrich lives through music, but we can’t do it without your support.
You can make a personal difference in the work of TSO. Ticket purchases cover only a portion of our costs.
Tallahassee is extremely fortunate to house an orchestra of exceptional quality for a city of its size. Thanks in large part to Florida State University and its outstanding faculty as well as very talented community musicians, the TSO brings an extremely high-level concert experience to its patrons. We are committed to matching this excellence in performance with an excellence in community engagement and education, and we are proud to be an integral part of Tallahassee’s civic life. Our contributions can be measured strictly in terms of numbers-we draw tourists, create jobs, help attract new industry, and enhance students’ intellectual growth-but are also measured by intangibles such as our patrons’ sense of shared experience and community pride. TSO donors help fulfill our mission of serving the public.
When you make a gift to the TSO, you can be assured that is will be spent wisely and put to use for the good of our community. Each season, the TSO depends on gifts to support almost half of its operating budget.
Opportunities for giving to the TSO are many and varied:
- Annual cash gifts
- Annual stock or securities
- Estate planning
- Support of various guest artists and/or concerts
- Matching gifts through your employer

Planned Giving: Most of us would like to leave a lasting legacy-to feel we have made a contribution that will benefit future generations. Those who are most devoted to classical music can help guarantee the future of both-through bequests, trusts, and other planned gifts.
By naming the Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra as a beneficiary in their wills or by making other planned gifts, donors ensure the Symphony’s long-term vitality while possibly realizing significant tax advantages for themselves.
