Kelsey Weber-Short was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, and attended Central Washington University to pursue Music Education. She then moved to Tallahassee, Florida in 2012 to pursue her Master’s Degree in Performance at Florida State University. During her first year at FSU, Weber-Short won the Young Artists Concerto Competition and performed the Weber Bassoon Concerto in F with the University Philharmonia. Not long after this, Weber-Short started regularly performing with the Tallahassee Symphony as the Orchestra’s second bassoonist. In addition to being a part of the orchestra for six years, Weber-Short is the elementary music teacher at Oak Ridge Elementary. In her free time she enjoys spending quality time with her Husband, two Boston Terriers, and lifting weights at the gym.
