Aimée Rieger, Violin

Aimée Rieger enjoys an active international career performing as a soloist, chamber musician, and orchestral player on both modern and baroque violin. As a new resident to Florida, Aimée performs as a core member of the Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra. Previous and ongoing engagements include, among others, North Carolina Baroque Orchestra, Oregon Bach Festival Period Orchestra, Tallahassee Bach Parley, Pacific Baroque Orchestra (Vancouver B.C.), Fuma Sacra Baroque Orchestra, Opera Wilmington, Bellingham Festival Orchestra, Zomeropera Alden Biesen (Belgium), Constance Chamber Opera (Germany), Schöneck Ensemble (Germany), Basilica Orchestra St. Paulin (Germany), Buxton Music Society (England), Oban Bach Orchestra (Scotland), and at the Royal Concertgebouw (Netherlands). As a soloist, she appeared numerous times at the Constantine Basilica Trier (Germany), a former palace of Roman Emperor Constantine, in repertoire ranging from solo Bach to the Romantic.

In addition to her performance career, Aimée is dedicated to her passion of teaching. She has maintained a successful private studio for over two decades and has adjudicated competitions across the United States. Her students have won positions in many youth orchestras, including Philadelphia, Seattle, Princeton, and Rochester, and have attended high-level summer and university music programs. Additionally, Aimee is currently the co-director/-founder of LAMP Chamber Players, a chamber music training program in Tallahassee. Recently, she served as Instructor of Violin at Western Washington University where she coached chamber ensembles, taught applied lessons, and Body Scales©, a class that she created for performing artists designed to enhance performance, prevent injury, manage stress, and address performance anxiety.

Aimée received her undergraduate degree in Violin Performance from the Eastman School of Music and has attended Oregon Bach Festival’s Berwick Academy, Tafelmusik’s Summer Institute, and Illinois Bach Academy. Her main teachers include Julia Wedman, Nancy Wilson, Mitchell Stern, Camilla Wicks, and Teri Lee. Outside of music, Aimée loves being active with her family outdoors, cuddling with her cats, reading books, and cooking.
