Auditions

The deadline to submit an audition application for the 24-25 concert season has passed.

String auditions will be held on August 24, 2024 in Dohnanyi Recital Hall at Florida State University.

Brass auditions will be held on August 25, 2024 in Dohnanyi Recital Hall at Florida State University.

Percussion auditions will be held on August 25, 2024 in the percussion studio at Florida State University. The percussion studio is in the Housewright Music Building, room number 113 (HMU 113.)

The deadline to submit an application for the 24-25 concert season has passed.

Applicants will be selected to audition based on experience and proximity to Tallahassee, Florida. The Tallahassee Symphony is a per service orchestra and cannot guarantee housing accommodations.

No electronic devices are allowed in the audition room during your audition. This includes, but is not limited to: tuners, metronomes, cell phones, and recording devices.

The audition committee reserves the right to dismiss any candidate not meeting the highest professional standards.

Musicians hired by the Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra are responsible for having and maintaining proper authorization to work in the United States. Employment starts in September 2024.

The National Alliance for Audition Support (NAAS) is an unprecedented national initiative to increase diversity in American orchestras. Employment

Internships

Your TSO works with local colleges and universities to provide practical experience in the arts through paid internships. Interns assist with operations, customer service, marketing and event planning.

In addition to internships, the orchestra employs several box office staffers to work in the office and at performance venues.
