About the Performance

UPDATE

Due to the forecasted severe weather impacting our region over the next several days, we have made the decision to postpone these concerts. The safety of our community, which includes our musicians and staff, is our most pressing concern.

The new dates are Saturday, October 26 at 7pm and Sunday, October 27 at 2pm.

If you have tickets already, your seats will automatically be transferred to the new dates. If you are unable to attend either show, refunds are available through your original point of purchase until Friday, October 18.

The Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra will present Star Wars: A New Hope in Concert featuring a screening of the complete film with composer John Williams’ iconic Oscar®-winning score performed live to the film. The concert will be led by conductor John Jesenksy on Saturday, September 28 and Sunday, September 29, 2024 at The Donald L. Tucker Civic Center.

Since the release of this first Star Wars movie over 45 years ago, the Star Wars saga has had a seismic impact on both cinema and culture, inspiring audiences around the world with its mythic storytelling, captivating characters, groundbreaking special effects and iconic musical scores composed by Williams. Fans will experience the scope and grandeur of this beloved film in a live symphonic concert experience.

Postponed to October 26th & 27th. All previously purchased tickets will be honored for the new date. For those unable to attend, refunds will be made available until October 18th through point of purchase.
