A new musical experience is on the horizon for the Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra after the group hired its newest conductor.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – After an extensive search, the Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra has chosen its new music director and conductor.
Maestro Yaniv Dinur was selected from a group of five conductor candidates who led the orchestra during its final conductor search.
Born in Jerusalem, Dinur is the current music director of the New Bedford Symphony Orchestra in Massachusetts. He is an accomplished pianist who established a chamber music series at the Villa Terrace Museum in Milwaukee, where he performs with musicians from the Milwaukee Symphony.
He says he is excited to join the TSO and be part of the Tallahassee community.
“I would like to make the Tallahassee Symphony the best orchestra it can be for itself and for the community. And make people happy, make the audience happy and go through an unbelievable musical experiences and enrich their life, hopefully, I will do my best.”

The search for the new conductor started in the Winter of 2023 and attracted nearly 160 applicants.
A search committee narrowed it down to five finalists, each of whom conducted a concert during the 2024-25 concert season.
Maestro Yaniv Dinur will assume the role beginning with the 2025-26 season. His first concert with the TSO is Saturday, Sept. 13 at Ruby Diamond Concert Hall.
