
Bio
Ken Davis has been member of the Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra since 2010. He is the Orchestra and Band Representative for Playground Music Center and strives to further the growth of music education by providing quality instruments and support to the music community in the Big Bend area Ken developed a love for music at an early age during his parent’s stay as missionaries in the Eastern European country of Latvia. Upon moving back stateside he began pursuing an education in music with an emphasis in violin performance. Ken attended Florida State University where he received his Bachelor of Music degree under the tutelage of Beth Newdome and Corinne Stillwell. Following his time in Florida he spent two years in the Midwest where he earned his Master of Music degree with professor Aaron Berofsky at the University of Michigan. An avid orchestral musician, Ken has performed with many ensembles including the Jacksonville Symphony, Mobile Symphony, Ann Arbor Symphony, Lansing Symphony, Pensacola Symphony, and Sinfonia Gulf Coast. Outside the world of music, Ken enjoys spending time with friends and family, playing golf, trying new restaurants, and going to Disney World!

Mahler’s first symphony…it’s perfect!
What is your favorite travel/vacation destination?
My friends and I try to go up to the Blue Ridge area of North Carolina every summer. It’s such a beautiful part of the country and if you like good food and cider you can’t beat it!
What would you be if not a musician?
Even though I’m not athletic at all, I love watching and talking about sports…so maybe sports journalism?
