Bio
Originally from Grand Rapids, Michigan, Mitchell George started playing the cello at the age of 8 and has played in TSO since 2022. He earned a bachelor’s degree in cello performance from Wheaton College, where he studied with Leonardo Altino, and earned his master’s degree in cello performance from Florida State University, studying with Greg Sauer. He is currently studying to earn a doctorate in cello performance at FSU and is an active chamber musician and private cello teacher in the Tallahassee community.

What was the first piece of music you fell in love with?
Some of the first pieces I remember falling in love with were the string quartets of Dvorak.
What kind of music do you listen to? I’m a huge fan of Beyoncé!
